Twenty second Meeting held on June 26, 2010

 In the twenty second meeting of India Rejuvenation Initiative (IRI) held on June 26, 2010, the following decisions were taken:

§         IRI would set up a Public Commission to look into the following:

Ø       Role of public servants at local, District, State and Central level, who did not uphold the Rule of Law while dealing with the culpability of persons responsible for the Bhopal gas tragedy between 1985 and 2010

Ø       The manner in which all arms of Government including the judiciary were compromised

Ø       Whether or not public authorities at various levels were beneficiaries of corrupt practices

§         The multi-member Public Commission would comprise of non-serving members of IRI

§         Basic preparatory work on the methodology to be adopted by the Public Commission would be completed within a month

§         Next meeting of IRI would be held in first week of August to give a final shape to the constitution, terms of reference, methodology of the Public Commission.
